The construction boom in Downtown Detroit has led to good-paying jobs for thousands of skilled trades’ workers. The proposed repeal of Michigan’s prevailing wage law would only drive down construction workers’ wages and benefits, and the quality of construction would undoubtedly suffer due to out-of-state contractors bringing in less skilled workers. Plain and simple: the repeal of prevailing wage is irresponsible and will allow unscrupulous out-of-state contractors to profit from our state tax dollars. Click here to read more.
